George Dennison McBride served in the Union Army during the War of the Rebellion. He
enlisted in Company H, 7th Regiment on October 12, 1861. Promoted to 1st Lt. April
16, 1863. DischargedNovember 4, 1864. Records of his service are not complete,
however, it is known he was at one time in the Hospital Corps, stationed in
Nashville, Tenn., and cared for the body of Capt. William Stewart Jack, his cousin,
who was killed in action. - He was a thirty-second-degree Mason.
He spent the latter years of his life in Gallipolis, Ohio, where he had a business
selling musical instruments.
He was also the Mayor of New Castle, Pennsylvania - the dates of his service in
Office are unknown.
It is suggested and records indicate that Annie Stevens and/or her family was from
the Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio area.
George Dennison McBride is the 8th child of 9 and son of Alexander & Mary Armstrong McBride.
Annie E. Stevens is the 1st child of 3 and daughter of William RB Stevens & Margaret Baltzell.
